Dominican Republic - Public Consultation on Low-Power Devices in the 915-928MHz BandRecently, the Instituto Dominicano de lasTelecomunicaciones (INDOTEL) launched a public consultation seeking comments on the proposed operating requirementsfor low-power devices operating in the 915-928 MHz band for Industrial, Scientific and Medical (ISM) applications.
In February 2026, INDOTEL released the revised National Frequency Allocation Plan (PNAF), designating the 915-928 MHz band asan ISM band. However, the corresponding technical parameters have not yet been established. This public consultation aims to gather feedback to support the development of the relevant technical requirements.
The main requirements are as follows: 1. Low-power devices operating in the 915-928 MHz band may operate under a Generic License scheme without the need to obtain anindividual license. 2. The maximum EIRP for indoor low-power devices islimited to 100mW. 3. For outdoor low-power devices (e.g., IoT systems, telemetry, smart metering, RFID, and industrial and similar applications), the maximum transmission power is limited to 1W, and the maximum EIRP is limited to 4W, with a 6dBi antenna gain. For antennas with a gain exceeding 6dBi, the transmission power shall be reduced in the same proportion that the antenn again exceeds 6dBi, ensuring that the maximum EIRP does not exceed 4W.
All comments and suggestions can be submitted by 9th July 2026 in Spanish to consultapublica@indotel.gob.do. Please include the resolution number “RESOLUCIÓN NÚM. 051-2026” in the subject line of the email.
