South Korea - Public Consultation on Revision of SAR Standard

On 25th June 2025, the Korean National Radio Research Agency (RRA) issued Notice 2025-44, seeking public consultation on the partial revision of SAR standard (draft), main contents ofthis revision are as below:

-        Details on the measurement of electromagnetic wave absorption rate (SAR) will be subject to the national standard KS C3350 (Draft Article 3, Paragraph1).

-        Set the implementation date of this announcement as 1st April 2026 and related transitional measures (Draft Appendix Articles 1 and 2).

-        Clarify the specific article numbers in the administrative regulations related to the scope of application of the announcement (Electromagnetic wavehuman protection standards) and revise the relevant terms (Draft Article 2).

-        Make editorial revisions to the text, including deleting unnecessary abbreviations and article numbers, deleting repeated terms, and adding Korean labels to the names of standardization organizations (Draft Articles 1, 2, andArticle 3, Paragraphs 1 and 2).
