Nicaragua - 900MHz Band Allocation

On 31st July 2023, the Instituto Nicaragüense de Telecomunicaciones y Correos (TELCOR) published Administrative Agreement 001-2023 regarding the 900MHz band allocation in Nicaragua. Main points are as below:

- The successful completion of migration process of FM Sound Broadcasting Operators originally operating within the 894-960MHz, is declared.

- The frequency band 894-960MHz is intended primarily for the provision of advanced mobile broadband services, which includes the provision of IMT technologies.

- The use of frequency band 915-928MHz is ratified for Short Range Devices and LPWAN Devices with low power.

- The import, commercialization and use of Short Range Devices and LPWAN Devices that operate only in 915-928MHz is allowed.

- It’s ordered to establish in corresponding Technical Regulations, the conditions for the use of 894-960MHz band.
