Saudi Arabia - Energy Efficiency Requirements for Electronic DisplaysRecently, the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO) published a draft standard for Electronic Displays – Energy Performance, Testing and Labeling Requirements. The draft standard references the EU Ecodesign Regulation 2019/2021 and sets minimum energy efficiency requirements for electric mains-operated electronic displays such as televisions, monitors and digital signage displays. The requirements include limits on efficiency parameters, defined energy efficiency classes and mandatory energy efficiency labeling. The draft also specifies requirements for product nameplates and instruction sheets. Products covered under this scope will be required to complete registration through the SASO system. |
