China - Announcement on Applicable Standards for RoHS Conformity Assessment

On 20th November 2025, the State Administration for Market Regulation and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) issued an announcement regarding the applicable standards for the limits and testing methods of the conformity assessment system for RoHS in electrical and electronic products. Main points are as follows:

1.Starting from the announcement date to 31st December 2025, companies should conduct conformity assessment as per GB/T26572-2011 or GB/T 26572-2011 with its amendment or GB 26572-2025. From 1st January 2026 to 31st July 2027, conformity assessment should be conducted following GB/T 26572-2011 and its amendment or GB 26572-2025. From 1st August 2027, conformity assessment should be conducted following GB 26572-2025.

2.Products that have completed conformity assessment as per GB/T 26572-2011 and continue to be manufactured or imported from 1st January 2026, it is required to complete the transition to GB/T 26572-2011 with its amendment or GB 26572-2025 before 1st January 2027. From 1st August 2027, products that have completed conformity assessment following GB/T 26572-2011 with its amendment and continue to be manufactured or imported may complete the transition to GB 26572-2025 during certificate renewal or amendment process.

3.The testing methods for the conformity assessment of the restriction of hazardous substances in electrical and electronic products in accordance with GB/T 26572-2011 with its amendment or GB 26572-2025 shall be carried out in accordance with the relevant parts of the GB/T 39560 series of standards.
