Brazil - Modernize Satellite Monitoring Process

On 12th November 2025, the National Telecommunications Agency of Brazil (ANATEL) announced to approve plan to modernize the satellite monitoring process.

The plan includes increased investment in infrastructure, modernization of systems and equipment, development of new tools for monitoring high-throughput satellites (HTS) and non-geostationary orbit (NGEO) constellations, and the establishment of a dedicated coordination unit for satellite monitoring. The initiative aims to expand its capacity to detect interference, optimize the use of spectrum and strengthen the monitoring of space operations that serve the Brazilian territory.
