Singapore - Suspension of registered Controlled Goods with non-compliances and unauthorized modificationsOn 10th November 2025, Singapore Competition & Consumer Commission (CCS) issued the circular CPSO-101125-22, which reminds that controlled goods (CGs) with non-compliances or unauthorized modifications detected during market surveillances may face suspension or prohibition from supply. Main Points areas below: 1.Any modifications to registered CGs shall be updated in the respective technical files. RS (Registered Suppliers) must re-certify or re-register the product for any technical modifications. For details on the requirements for modifications to registered CGs, please refer to section 5.5 of the Consumer Protection (Safety Requirements) Regulations Information Booklet. 2.RS shall maintain and make available the technical files of their registered CGs to the CPSO within 7 days upon request. A RS who fails to do so shall be guilty of an offence and liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding $2,000 or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 12 months or to both. 3.The registration of a CG is valid for three years, and renewal applications should be submitted at least six months before the registration expire to allow sufficient time for testing, certification, and processing. 4.It is an offence to supply or advertise for the purposes of supply, any CGs which have been suspended or prohibited. Any person found guilty of the offence shall be liable on conviction to a fine up to $10,000 or to imprisonment for a term up to 2 years or both. |
