Guinea - Meeting between ARPT and stakeholders in the telecommunications equipment marketRecently, the Regulatory Authority for Posts and Telecommunications of Guinea (ARPT) held a working meeting with local importers, distributors, retailers, and after-sales service providers to discuss the issues related to importation, certification, and distribution of Telecommunications equipment. ARPT highlighted the importance of type approval for market order, service quality, and consumer protection, and pointed out the legal risks of using uncertified devices. Industry representative expressed support for ARPT’s initiatives and suggested extending the compliance transition period. Both sides reached consensus on certification procedures and responsibilities, and agreed to establish a regular communication mechanism. ARPT called on all market participants to review their products for compliance and submit type approval applications promptly, ensuring telecom equipment meets national standards and safeguards user safety. |
