India TEC - Public Consultation on Updated GR for Wi-Fi APOn 7th July 2026, the Telecommunication Engineering Centre (TEC) of India released a public consultation seeking stakeholder comments on Updated Generic Requirements of Wi-Fi Access Point (AP).
The key updates are as follows: 1. Introduces requirements for the Wi-Fi 6GHz band and Wi-Fi 7 (IEEE 802.11be), including related technical parameters and characteristics. 2. Specifies that if the equipment is “Wi-FiCERTIFIED™”, clauses/parameters already tested may not be tested again for TEC certification. 3. Introduces a requirement that equipment shall be compliant to the respective Indian Telecom Security Assurance Requirements(ITSAR) as applicable. 4. Updates the referenced safety and EMC standards to their latest editions.
