India TEC - Public Consultation – Updated ER for Routers

On 4th June 2026, the Telecommunication Engineering Centre (TEC) of India released a public consultation seeking stakeholder comments on Draft Revision of Essential Requirements document for Routers.

The ER for Routers covers five categories of routers, namely BNG/BRAS Router, Cloud Control Capable Router, IPv4 Router,IPv6 Router and MPLS Router. It specifies parameter names and applicable standards relating to EMC, safety, network protocols, management functions and interface testing.

The draft revision primarily introduces new requirements and corresponding standards for 1.6Tbps interfaces.
