India WPC - Rules of Short-Range Automotive Radar System in 77-81GHz

Further to the Alphabet Newsletter issued on 23rd December 2025, the Department of Telecommunications of India (DoT) officially published the Use of Short-Range Automotive Radar System in the 77-81GHz band (Exemption from Licensing Requirements) Rules on 11th June 2026. The Rules shall come into force on the date of publication.

According to the rules, the short-range automotive radar systems operating in the 77-81 GHz band are now exempted from license requirements, but still requires type approval.

The system shall conform to the parameters specified in the following table:
