India WPC - Rules for OBU for C-V2X in 5.9GHz Band

On 10th June 2026, the Department of Telecommunications of India (DoT) officially published the Use of On Board Unit (OBU) for Cellular Vehicle-to-Everything Communication (C-V2X) in the 5.9GHz band (Exemption fromLicensing Requirements) Rules. The Rules shall come into force on the date of publication.

According to the rules, the OBU for C-V2X is exempted from license requirements, but still requires type approval. The OBU shall conform to the parameters specified in the following table:
