Chile - Update on SRD Standard ResolutionFurther to Alphabet Newsletter issued on 1st December 2025, the Subsecretaría deTelecomunicaciones de Chile (SUBTEL) published ResolutionNo. 966 on 27th May 2026 as a further amendment to Resolution No. 1985. Main changes are as below:
1. In Article 1, a new subparagraph g.4) is added after the current subparagraph g.3), as follows: “g.4) Extremely low power active implantablemedical devices operating in the 9-315 kHz frequency band, with a fieldstrength not exceeding 30 dBµA/m (or its equivalent in dBµV/m) at 10 meters.” 2. In Article 2, paragraph 3), a new third paragraphis inserted between the second and final clauses, as follows: “Alternatively, the confidential version of said Report may be submitted through the Virtual Document Filing Office of theUndersecretariat of Telecommunications, providing the corresponding Entry Number along with the equipment references to certificaciones@subtel.gob.cl.” 3. In Article 2, paragraph 4), first subparagraph,section b), the entire text is replaced by the following: “Thesize of the QR code will be freely determined by the responsible party,ensuring in all cases the necessary conditions for its correct reading and functioning. However, it is recommended that the QR code comply with the specifications of the ISO/IEC 18004 standard.”
